One bright winter’s day,
Just bright enough to show them the rain,
The candy man came
Delivering what was supposed to become it all,
Become their one in everything,
It suited the sick doctor’s cure
But now they’re running out of moments
To search for this miracle treatment
It’s said to be in the no where
Between the questions and answers
Though they try so hard
They can’t see the rainbow
That came from all Your rain
So they fake the shame
Pretending it’ll be alright
As soon as they pass their blame
It’s their only anesthetic
That makes it worth the fall
And still tastes like pesticide
Filling the world up till
It’s all empty inside
Promising something
Prescribing more pain
So coat it all in sugar and spice and everything nice
With the taste tested lies
Because a spoonful of sugar allows it to go down
How did candy coated apple
Become what takes us all down?
