    lately my backs hurt
    must be to much lifting
    lately my minds gone
    much be to much drifting
in my younger years i feel the pain
    of advancing age
it must be my mind wandering
as i turn each lonely page
the dry crispness of the paper
    is course against my finger
and the depth of the authors words
in my mind they haunt and linger
    i hear the volume crack
is i bend back upon the spine
i prop my feet upon a table
for the words i find divine
the story unfolds with twist and turns
and sarrows i could not have guessed
and as i read about this mans life
my heart aches in my breast
so much pain and sarrow he endured
but he lived with out fear
and as i read about his death
my nose burns and i shed a tear
i close this book with a sad goodbye
though its etched with in my thoughts
ill remeber tom for like our savior
with his life freedom he bought

it was alright a little general for my liking but I do see what you were going for, and you got there I mean with The whole Uncle Tom and the Cabin deal, I see the connection and how you were effected by the book--good bok btw. You have a few typos like sarrow-sorrow and is --as--a few like that but I may even be wrong...If you used a few more descriptions of what you were saying-for instance his fear--well.......what fear and so on....also the last two ine sare shakey but these are my opinions and I am barely right so take em how you see fit.
