Mistletoe Moments dots

It's Christmas!
Tis the season to be merry.
But for alot of us
Things get harried.

Shop for gifts,
Find the time to wrap,
Coordinating paper and bows,
I really need a nap!

Baking for home
Make extra for work.
Aw hell, that fruitcake
Just broke another fork!

Try to figure time
To visit three homes
When all I want to do
Is curl up in my own.

When my eye is twitching
And my smile gets frozen,
My husband takes my hand
And gives me a Mistletoe Moment.

He leads me to the hall
Where the sprig is hung.
Ignoring my protest,
There's too much to be done!

Just for a moment
A kiss and a hug.
The world slows down
And kids don't bug.

Systems recharged
Now I'm able to reason.
Thanks for the Mistletoe Moment
It's my favorite part of the season.

  You know I have never been kissed under the mistletoe before and I have been married 25 yrs.
This write is a reminder that it is the little things in life that can make the world go round.
I think I will get some mistletoe and slow my wife down for a bit.
Great write and I shall have to read more now.

  ah, how romantic! those mistletoe moments are
special, aren't they, right in the middle of all the
chaos that, unfortunately, this season brings.
people seem to forget the real meaning of
Christmas.. it's so damn commercialized it makes
me nauseous..

  AWWWW..i really loved this one!was way fun to read...i had to giggle at the fruit cake and the broken fork! and ahhh yes the protest of us eager to just get things done...but once ya stop and the ones ya love remind you of what its all really about..its deff moments like that , that are worth savoring!GREAT JOB!

  Hey, Travi, what a neat idea for a poem! A really nice contrast from the hustle/bustle of a commercial Christmas to a magic moment that we need more of.

  There's so much hype around Christmas it makes the holiday a chore. So many people to buy for, trying to figure out what they want. The real spirit of Christmas is eclipsed by all the present giving!

I liked this a lot there were some good humourous touches. I,m glad your husband didn't give in to your protests!!!

  I love the smetiment in this one. Way too many people get way too tense come the holidays. It's All gotta be done and it's ALL gotta be PERFECT.

People get so busy they forget that the holidays are about love, not about obligation.

  BRAVO! SCOURGE, you made this well written with a friggin great sense of "Yeah". To many people feel too obligated this time of year to give. Shooo man, when dey gonna wise up and realize if you give the entire year, you dont have to pack it all in to one month? Am I the only one that does that? Nah...sounds like Darrin does too! Glad to hear you got him. Whoo-hoo! Give 'im a high five for me and place that superman symbol on his chest!
