This write is to my father who as i have grown has still not cared to find me. Today on my special day i will be happy and carefree and no one will take that from me.
Sorry this is short and pretty bad, but its out there so go easy on it.

Today is My Special Day
A Birthday wish is all I have And the thought of you today. All these years unknown and unloved in oh so many ways, But guess what Today is my special day. I sit and wonder if you will do the same If you even care enough to actually learn my name. My hopes will shatter just as they always have But guess what Today is my special day. Its been a long year. Its been a long life, And thoughts of you will not chain me down tight. Because guess what, Today is MY special day. |

Being a father I am very sensitive about childless parents and children without a parent. If I could say anything to you it would be that as you grow older and experience more of the world you will learn that things are not always the way they appear. There could be so many reasons why your father has chose not to contact you that you should not judge him now. Also make every day your special day and don't let your feelings of desertion control how you live your life. I guess it's one of those things that just might never happen or it will at the least expected time. But on to your write...I thought it was good. I just have one suggestion structure wise and I'll show you an example of what I'm talking about. where you have, "All these years unknown and unloved in oh so many ways," you should probably break it down like make the last half of that line into another line. Cause those kind of long sentences seem to run on and seem sloppy. But if you want you can look for some others in there too cause I think it would be stupid of me to point them all out.
