Description: Had the opportunity to see my grandmothers village Zakopane, Poland life changing moment, stories came alive..... just a moment I will treasure
She left her home
Just a minute passed twenty
With tear filled eyes
And final embraces to be held
The train whistle came
Her newly wed’s hand held tight
Their childhood village in last sight
A new world they said
Words of freedom spoken
They had each other, right?
A future now awaiting
The trains whistle to a boats engine
The boats engine changed to foreign voices
And time took hold
Fast forward 50 years
Now with Grandchildren grown
Her husband soul at rest
Her sorrow was let go
A chance to go home
Has come and gone
Now stories are what are left
Of the place she called home
Her children’s children eyes bright up
Every story told
The village tucked away in mountains
The open market of old
Of hard times but quality people
Theses stories caught the smallest ears
A child’s dream only to see
The land which brings stories to life
The smallest took the risk
Alone found her way
Across many lands and borders
Found the storytellers dwelling
Tears filled her eyes
As she step off the train
Just a minute passed twenty
And a new world to be seen
