she'd give him the world, he's her secret untold.
Cherished words never to be heard
silenced by foolish, degrading words.
She clings to a promise, his fancy lie

She looks for the good, knowing it's there,

A minute with her is his time wasted.

She'll buy the beer, her invitation not made,

The petals have fallen, the soil has dried
yet this Lil Rose knows the seed's inside.
She's blind, she's deaf, stupid and dumb
the thorns have dulled, her roots are numb.
'Leave him alone!' cries a voice from within.
