Hope is Torture

You were part of the list that no one ever knew.
But being jealous is the worst part.
The tension in your arms, turned to glass---shattered.
But this is the knowledge for free
But tonight we lie awake
We can find the beauty within
We can find who we really are.
But with ribbons tied at the wrist,
And paint that cross out the eyes,
I don't believe in anything anymore.
That's why we're all brought to hope.
But hope is for believers
And hope is only torture.

I really like this piece. i felt that the begining and end were very very strong. the middle might need a little extra to keep up with the rest of the poem.

"But hope is for believers
And hope is only torture."

great way to end the poem.

Wow, great poem. Hope really is torture, and this poem just made me feel like any hope that was tried to be done was done in vain, because, do be redundant, hope is torture. This is the first writing of yours I have read, but I liked it. Keep this up.

i could understand the overall message but it was quite unclear, i think. it kinda didn't go together, as faras some of the lines. it has potential but it needs work.

hmm... Strange sentiment. Hope is something everyone should have. Hope is what keeps us alive and afloat in this chaotic world of ours. Hope is... everything. Hope may be torture, but torture is ignorance, and ignorance is bliss. Good emotion and vocabulary. I love the idea, even if I don't agree with it. I've been broken many times before, but just get up, and you can help other people. People who need it. Thats what life is for. Everything happens for a reason.
Wishing for more
