Lurking shadows always there,
The twisted shapes you cannot bear.
The darkest horrors of your mind,
Now you wish that you'd be blind.
Ever returning again and again,
Drifting from the other plane.
Slowly revealing the darkest form,
You know your mind is where they're born.
But then there comes the saving grace,
Light fills the darkened place.
The shadows wither and disappear,
The demons now are no where near.
They have fled the world of light,
Ran away and taken flight.
Now you can open up your eyes,
Long gone are the darkened skies.
But the light is just a passing boon,
Since it'll be dark all too soon.
And once again they return,
The cause of them you never learn.
Listen now to your parents words,
Those lost words you wish you'd heard.
These strange monsters are not real,
And your fear they cannot feel.
Just grow strong and face the fear,
It doesn't matter that you cry a tear.
Cry them all out if you dare,
Just aslong as you sit and stare.
Stare at the shapes on the wall,
See that their not evil at all.
Just the outline of your toy,
Go to sleep now litle boy.
