that you were back in town
its been so long since i have seen you last
i wonder if you would ever want to
want to get together with a kid like me again
you see its been so long
so long since i could stare into those eyes so blue
i only vaguely remember the way in which you used to trap me
that innocent laughter which flowed from within you
those lips so ready to be pressed against
i cant say i have been struggling without you here
but i could say i have been waiting for you to return
because so much had been left behind
i want to know if that is where it should stay
shall we let the past rest and fade away
or shall we open a new chapter and call it "the beginning"
it isnt that i fell in love with your long silky hair
and it isnt even that your voice spoke within my dreams
the simple things like just knowing you are here
i heard it through a friend of a friend

they also told me you were asking about me
so where does this new beginning start
and where is it that we lay the past to rest
