Description: I wrote this a long time ago. This one shows my fighter side as well. So young and bold, but you'll have to forgive me unimaginative expression of self confidence. Tee hee.
Just Like You -------------------------------------------
Look in the mirror before you judge me
You may be surprised by what you see
You'd see that I am just like you
I wish you could, but you're not going to
You don't really know who I am
Walk the world in my shoes
Then hate me if you still can
Step back and see the world through my eyes
Fix yourself before you try to change me
My style reflects who I want to be
You'll cry a river before I shed a tear
Stop trying to hurt me with words I can't hear
Can't you see I've blocked you out?
You can't break in, I'm stone cold now
No iron fist can knock me down
I am who I am, nothing will change that.
Very strong statements here. Though it does appear as your everyday "teen" poetry, it is very direct, almost as if towards one person rather than the world like most others. The spelling and grammar seems flawless though I am no English major.
