Happiness comes to me in pasta
Then goes for a walk in the sunshine.
And happiness can't help thinking
There is nothing more beautiful than the human face.
So responsive, so needy and lite with a smile.
Smiling at me, lifting into the sunshine
Until all the world is smiling
So warm, so blue, so solid.
With happiness on the surface
And happiness deep down,
I can only pretend to be unhappy.
I wish to share my happiness so much
I pretend to be miserable.
Because misery loves company.
And loves to be subverted
Loves to be diverted
Into just a moment of happiness.
They tell me I am misusing unhappiness
It is designed for misery.
But before the gods can become jealous
We hide our smile behind a frown
Ready to peek out
When they're not looking.
The B*stards!
