Surrounded by knowledge I feel at home The joy of knowing questions have answers A purpose I've lived my life through this knowledge Never venturing to far into the unknown Always wanting the upper hand Needing to know there was a purpose An answer I'd peruse through books Accepting what was said as truth Believing love was a fairy tale Friendship forever And no problem couldn't be solved between two covers Reality has a funny way, I've learned Of jading that innocence Leaving me unsure of all I've held dear All the knowledge I've aquired Causing me to accept that only data and fairy tales Are hiding between those covers The Knowledge that I've relied on Has left me bare and exposed Unable to process anything without an answer A purpose Yet in reality Nothing seems to have that purpose That answer |
this is freaking cool. i liked it and also i can relate to it because you reach a point where you realize not every book has the answer, not all situations can have the same formula to rely on... good poem. great concept.| Posted on 2006-03-31 00:00:00 | by EEKS | [ Reply to This ] | |
