Alexis woke slowly to an eeire sound that throbbed in her ears. She couldn't identify it right off but new it was what had caused her to wake. It was dark in the room but she could see fringes of red in the east.
Then it occured to her what the sound was. "Complete absence of sound." Her voice in the silence startled her so badly she tumbled out of her bed. "Ow!" She rubbed the side of her head and sat up. "Rowan, Jordis!" She whispered harshly for her roommates trying not to scream in the eerie quiet. She lived at Clay Feldings Childrens Center in Borgia Texas and even on the quietest night it was never this silent.
"They must have been restrained and put in Fire Home" She told her self calmingly. Fire Home was for the worst of the Feldings children. She stood up and walked to the bathroom. She looked at herself in the mirror and began taking out the curlers Mrs. Agair and herself had put in the night before. An uncomfortable sense of deja vu pervaded every movement but she put it off as first of the year jitters.
"Alexis" She turned around startled at the noise and found herself looking at someone who looked somewhat familiar. She had deep blue violet eyes and dark brown hair, and almost perfect features. The only defect was the sorrow like mask to her face. "I'm Heaven will you come to me?"
"Shh you gotta whisper or the housparents will put you on restriction!"
"Not again." Heavens sorrow turned to anger and she grabbed Alexis' arm. "Look we've been through this three times already and if you won't remember it willingly, I'll force you to remember."
"I"m sorry Heaven, but I don't know you and we have never had any conversation let alone this one. Now if you don't mind I have to get ready." Alexis turned and began loosing her hair from the curlers furiously. She didn't know when Heaven left but twenty minutes later when she finally gave up on having her hair curled Heaven was gone.
Alexis stepped into the closed of portion of the bathroom and turned on the water. When it was half full she slipped in and sighed. She hadn't slept well and her muscles were sore from tending the Centers horses. She reclined back in the tub and promptly slept.
Alexis woke slowly to and eerie throbbing sound. "Total lack of noise." She said aloud. Deja vu hit her like a sack of bricks and she stood. She didn't bother to call for her roommates this time, ('this time?' She wondered silently). "Something is very very wrong." She crawled out of bed, scratching her neck and jumping when she pulled her hand away wet. Her hair was soaked and dripping onto her shoulders. She knew that it was almost dawn and that Mrs. Agair and herself had put the curlers in before sunset the night before so why was her hair soaked. "I'm dreaming. That's the only way this is happening." She whispered closing her eyes and willing herself awake. She opened her eyes still standing and her hair still quite wet.
"Alexis?" She turned slowly towards the bathroom terrified and fell into the eyes she had been expecting. "I'm Heaven will you come to me now?"
"No!" she screamed throwing herself past the girl into the bathroom. She slid into the sectioned off room where the bathtub was and screamed. There floating peacefully and lifelessly in the tub was Alexis herself. Her silky blonde hair that she loved so much was spread like a halo in the water around her head. 'It's so pretty,' a small non-feeling part of her stated.
"Now will you come to me?" Heaven asked softly from the doorway.
"How long?" Alexis asked brokenly.
"A few hours. They're about to find you." As Heaven finished the sentence, Alexis' roommate Jordis stumbled sleepily into the bathrrom and screamed.
In the next few hours paramedics came and tried to revive her and removed her from the house.
"I fell asleep and drowned right" Alexis said knowing the answer but still wanting confirmation.
"No, since you were little you have had a slightly wrong vessel in your brain that finally ruptured today."
"Oh."
"Will you come to me now Alexis."
"Where, Heaven, where." She asked sobbing over her so soon ended life.
Heaven smiled and the room was swallowed into her light. "Into me Alexis, into Heaven"
