Hmm, Thinking upon tis write gives me a feeling of having to struggle for true identity. One must wonder if happiness is all it is cracked up to be. Happiness comes with baggage in this one. Many tales and true stories come from standing true to being good. Job, from the bible was one of those people who was considered a very good man and faithful to his god. Never faltering when all in his life failed and he was plagued with many things.
I like the structuring here and I don't feel bored while reading it. Most poems that deal with this subject tend to bore me to tears.
Sadness has its good side too. We tend to think that when people are sad they are either giving up or have lost something near to them. Sadness is an emotion and without emotions we become dead to ourselves and those around us. Emotions wakes us up and lets us know that we are human. The experience that you descibe here is called the funk. Falling into the funk is something we all do at times. I myself this very day have fallen into the funk due to things that are beyond my control and that is a problem for me because I feel I must always be in control. Imagine my surprise when I found out that I didn't have any control of this. HAHAHA
