    Description:
It was weird but as I was writing it it seemed to relieve me of many emotions. I am no longer a slave to sadness. I am satisfied.

    -------------------------------------------

Praying each day for the eternal freedom that I dream of
Death seems to be the only escape
I cry, complain but nothing liberates me from the pain

In my attempt to be happy
I find myself falling deeper and deeper into a pit

In this pit I find only darkness
And leeches that pray of my body
    The only thing that remains

My soul has long been gone
I am only a body that needs no nourishment

The guilt does not allow me to rest

    I am cursed
I can neither live nor die

    My wings have been clipped
    I stand in the darkness
Allowing monsters and creatures to beat me

    I can not fight
    There is no reason to
No matter what they do to my body
It will not be a worse punishment than taking my soul

    I am void
    I can no longer feel
So no matter what happens all is lost

Hmm, Thinking upon tis write gives me a feeling of having to struggle for true identity.
One must wonder if happiness is all it is cracked up to be. Happiness comes with baggage in this one.
Many tales and true stories come from standing true to being good. Job, from the bible was one of those people who was considered a very good man and faithful to his god. Never faltering when all in his life failed and he was plagued with many things.

I like the structuring here and I don't feel bored while reading it. Most poems that deal with this subject tend to bore me to tears.

Sadness has its good side too. We tend to think that when people are sad they are either giving up or have lost something near to them. Sadness is an emotion and without emotions we become dead to ourselves and those around us. Emotions wakes us up and lets us know that we are human.
The experience that you descibe here is called the funk. Falling into the funk is something we all do at times. I myself this very day have fallen into the funk due to things that are beyond my control and that is a problem for me because I feel I must always be in control.
Imagine my surprise when I found out that I didn't have any control of this. HAHAHA

    Nicely written Little One

      Hey Kid,
This is one spectacular piece of writing. Might I suggest that the title is 'The Pit'.

One typo here and punctuation would help to enhance the whole piece.

And leeches that pray of (on) my body(...)
    (t)The only thing that remains(.)

you might look in a thesarus and not use the word 'body' three times.

Death however in no escape, poetry is!

I am proud of you...now I realy can't wait to see the first pink rose this spring.
