Description: I wanted to do some type of ode to this time, so in this once in a lifetime day and time, I say thank you for giving me another moment....I will make sure it is appreciated.
Appreciation of Time -------------------------------------------
For the moment that had passed
A thankful feeling is surrendered
To the minute of my life
That has now washed away
As I sit in this solitude
I'm reveling in this moment
For its circle of giving
Will never float my way again.
I will stop being hurried
And instead begin to notice
The delights that are accompanied
By every “second” decision that has been made
Because if in one moment my life could be changed
This should all be relevant
And given its fair value
For this once in a lifetime minute of the day.
This is really excellent, Denise! Ask anyone who has been near death or has faced their own mortality (which includes me), and they will tell you to appreciate every minute of time, and live in the moment! We do not live a day or a year at a time, or even a minute at a time, but rather, we live a heartbeat at a time! The secret of enjoying life is in the enjoyment of little things, and not letting a minute pass without really noticing what's going on!
May your next heartbeat be for joy!
You have a delightful talent at writing, and I'll be back to read more of your work!
i like this alot. i think it is something alot of people can relate to in thinking. to me, the description you gave was just as delightful as the poem itself. its good to remind all your readers about how important it is to cherish each moment in time, because you never get to relive it. that statement sent a whirl wind of feelings and emotions going through my head. muchlove-ash
I love tyme- that is to say I hate it. It is an enemy- and everyday we must strive to defeat it. All tyme does is take from you- yet here you are thanking it. For every moment that passes- every grain of sand that falls- you are thanking it for feeling. That is such an interesting approach to me. "This should all be relevant"
Keep up the fantastic work, and remember::: You can think tyme is precious- but it's all in how you perceive the moments...
I sometimes forget to take time out and enjoy the moment. This was a very sweet and endearing poem that spoke volumes of truth. I think also you made the reader realize we need to look back and reflect on things to see where we are at and where we need to be in life. Great work!
