    -------------------------------------------

Sharp as a blade of grass, edgy, like paper, her words were blunt and split to the core. Licking the remnants of a successful retort from her lips like a cat who had savoured the cream, she unfroze her composure and returned to washing the dishes.

Feeling scorched and shrunken by the dragon's fiery fury, he retreated under the blanket of a tea towel, buried his seething, teeth-clenching sarcasm under a furrowed brow and swiped the dishes dry.

"Simmer for five hours and boil over."

Cooking instructions for a passive aggressive life.

She sure showed him! lol. This was so good! I loved the way you detail how each are feeling and their facial features as well. You did a great job again with the imagery. This is a fav also.

Thankyou, elephantasia. This piece really made my day! Nice to see some humour woven into such good writing! You've quite defined the "short but sweet" phrase. Yet, I'd replace "sweet" with: vivid, memorable, well-thought...etc. ! I'll try not to be blah blah "Nice going! Great!" about it, but im honest - i thought it was good!
