I have eaten

the plums

that were in

the icebox

and which

you were probably

saving

for breakfast

Forgive me

they were delicious

so sweet

and so cold

This is an absolutely snutning home on a pristine lake. Trully a Jewel a must do. The hospitality of the owners is a major part of the experience as they seek to anticipate your every move. The rooms are more than just comfortable , they are just the way you would like your guest room to be. Peaceful picturesque asking to be your host!!!! Thank you Rick and Kyn for being the best if hosts on your delightful home

I love visiting The Jewel and its warm and wonuerfdl hosts! I think I have been there at least once in each season. This beautiful Victorian- style home is immaculate and it's even pet-friendly. It's many Christmas trees are decorated to the hilt during the Christmas season. It is truly a home away from home on a beautiful Minnesota lake and once we were even there when Rick was giving pontoon rides. I have enjoyed bird-watching from the kitchen window while dining on Rick's gourmet breakfasts. Although golf courses, great shopping, a sweet little regional theater and the Headwaters of the Mississippi are withing easy driving distance, The Jewel is a destination in itself! It would be a wonuerfdl place to have an intimate wedding, a photo shoot, a business or organization's Christmas Tea or a even a small family reunion! I absolutely love The Jewel. x x

I once took a class that studied 19th cunetry American history through the lens of so-called private writings journals, diaries, letters. That class made me think a lot about audience. Did those folks writing diaries in the 1800 s ever expect that they would be read by folks some 200 years later? I know that when I journal, I expect that someone else may one day read that a family member, a stranger, my biographer (ha!), etc. I don't censor myself, but I still believe that one day there may be another reader.

This is just to say that the poem is capable of provoking all sorts of reactions, which makes it already an interesting text. Free association may help out to interpret. The common elements among different interpretations might be pointing out towards the collective unconscious.

This is one of the worst poems ive ever read. Everyone is overthinking the damn thing. It is about him eating a freaking plum,so get over it. This is why the Japanese think wer STUpid. I mean, what if I wrote a poem about me taking a shit? Would you guys connect it to a butterfly hatching out of it\'s shell? Damn people.

forbidden things are attractive and when we get these forbidden things we feel guilty. the message is hidden in the poem and it is not given directly.

I am not sure what this poem means, though I do see the Adam and Eve analysis lying in the words. it raises many questions of what this truely is about, or is it really just that he took the plums and left a poetic note apologizing?

.: :.

It also has a allusion to the plums being a forbidden fruit just like the story "Adam and Eve." The entire poem is a apology that is written with insincerity.

This poem is written in a tantalizing manner. Like from a lover to a lover. Not wife, but lover. Its teasing, the author knew it shouldn't be done but did it anyway. It has a Rhett Butler feel and everyone can understand being teased by lovers.

.: :.

The poem is a note of forgiveness, he knew it was wrong but he took them anyway. When you ask someone "Forgive Me" it changes the argument and puts it on the 'forgiver', and what they do is on them.
