I think this site is awesome, I (as of this moenmt) have only seen the printable play money, but it is very helpful.I am in school obtaining my Early Learning & Child Care diploma, and we have an assignment of Prop Box . I decided since the kids in my Practicum (which is kind of like a volunteer position at a daycare/preschool) love the housekeeping center, I bought a cash register and decided to try and find some play money to go with it that is cheap. This is amazing, I plan to take a better look around the site now that I have found it!

This is great! I'm trying a new behoivar modification for my unruley 11 yr old. He smarted off that I (Mom) never do anything for him, so ..I've made a list of chores/jobs along with the amount he earns for doing each of these chores/jobs. I've also listed some of the priviledges he can buy with his money (2 hrs of t.v. costs him $5, etc.). I didn't want to hand over actual cash, so these are great!I'm hoping he can learn to appreciate his single mom's hard work, and also learn that EVERYTHING COSTS SOMETHING! He's become so disrespectful, out of control, and expects everything to be given to him. Perhaps this will give him a wake-up call and see for once that I do alot for him and his brother, and a lil respect goes along way and often gets you what you want (which to him is t.v., friends, skateboard, etc.) lolI'm crossing my fingers and hope this works!!! lol

I thought Frank Peretti's The Oath cotianned fabulous symbolism. Granted, I was a bit of a youthful reader when I ingested it, and am not sure in retrospect if I would be so keen on the way the book was written — although I think the symbolism would still hold up. x x

above symbolism is stcejbuive and personal and if you force it you risk making people not want to continue reading because apparently a book about a boy and his dog can't just be a book about a boy and his dog it HAS to have some deeper meaning. And if the student can't see the deeper meaning they're going to get frustrated and give up on reading because they're being told (no matter how indirectly) they're doing it wrong. Of course it really has to do with HOW the teacher is teaching the book/explaining the symbolism but I think even well intentioned teachers can very easily push too hard especially if they have a student who views things more literally than other students might.

Manon, two days ago I was doodling heart-shaped blooalns with my youngest son....while he drew, with painstaking care, a map of his world.I'm happy to say that his map crept over onto my side of the paper and filled in the area around the blooalns.including me.filling me with hope, faith, and love.hmmm....fabulous cheeks as usual on this one. I send you the soothing aroma of freshly made chicken stock.(from Canadian chicks of course)Keep yourself well & have a lovely visit.~
