Dream Song 8: The weather was fine. They took away his teeth Analysis

The weather was fine. They took away his teeth,

white & helpful; bothered his backhand;

halved his green hair.

They blew out his loves, his interests. 'Underneath,'

(they called in iron voices) 'understand,

is nothing. So there.'

The weather was very fine. They lifted off

his covers till he showed, and cringed & pled

to see himself less.

They instaleld mirrors till he flowed. 'Enough'

(murmmered they) 'if you will watch Us instead,

yet you may saved be. Yes.'

The weather fleured. They weakened all his eyes,

and burning thumbs into his ears, and shook

his hand like a notch.

They flung long silent speeches. (Off the hook!)

They sandpapered his plumpest hope. (So capsize.)

They took away his crotch.

It's a collection of the texts that were left out when the Roman Catholic crhuch assembled the Biblical canon out of all the fragments that existed. It's pretty extensive, could take a lifetime to study. But interesting stuff. x x

Thanks so much for your comment! Actually, if I could only get one book, I think it would have to be Young Children and Worship. The other most prciatcal books are The Complete Guide to Godly Play, Volumes 2-4. Even though Godly Play has evolved since Young Children and Worship, the book still has a wealth of ideas. It has scripts for telling stories as well as patterns for making materials.I think there are so many ways children can benefit from Godly Play that it isn't that important if some of the story scripts have changed a bit. I'd be sure to study the YouTube Godly Play videos because they'll give a feel for how to present the stories. How exciting that you plan to share Godly Play with your children!Deb Chitwood recently posted..
