.: meaning :.

I can't help but think that this is not only a poem about nature. I believe that she relates her life and responsibilities to that of a flower. Both of which are overlooked. In the biography "my wars are laid away in books" she talks about her speech being "flowers of speech." I believe that that may also be what she is applying to this poem. Another thought that I had is that at the end she seems to realize that tests and challenges, when we do not run away from them, make us stronger. Although I don't necessarily believe she applied that to her life at all times. She had a strange way of relating to nature.
