The Kraken Analysis

Below the thunders of the upper deep,
Far far beneath in the abysmal sea,
His ancient, dreamless, uninvaded sleep
The Kraken sleepeth: faintest sunlights flee
About his shadowy sides: above him swell
Huge sponges of millennial growth and height;
And far away into the sickly light,
From many a wondrous grot and secret cell
Unnumbered and enormous polypi
Winnow with giant fins the slumbering green.
There hath he lain for ages and will lie
Battering upon huge seaworms in his sleep,
Until the latter fire shall heat the deep;
Then once by men and angels to be seen,
In roaring he shall rise and on the surface die.

I also believe that Tennyson uses this poem to release his feelings. This i think could be due to his chiled hood. His farther was a drunk and insane and his brothers addicted to opiem and theft. What would your feelings say? .

It's about the inner evil people choose not to show otheres. We keep it hidden inside, away from everyone. it sleeps, and festers (eBattering upon huge seaworms in his sleep) until judgement day (the fires), it will be displayed to all. Angels. Humans. God. You will not be able to hide those sick thoughts - you will not be able to lie to others (or, in many cases, yourself)

its showing htat the kraken has been awoken due to human distubance and has been lured to the surface to be killed.

The poem is talking about a sea monster, that lives at the vey bottom of the sea. It destroys ships. When the monster reaches the surface, it dies. This is the first time the monster sees people and the first time the people see it. This happens at the end of time

It could also be interpreted as a metaphor for Tennyson's life long fear of mental illness, gurgling away under the sea then bursting up out of the surface.
