There is no Frigate like a Book
To take us Lands away
Nor any Coursers like a Page
Of prancing Poetry—
This Travers may the poorest take
Without oppress of Toll—
How frugal is the Chariot
That bears the Human soul.

this means that by reading a book, you can reach everything.like for example, you want to go to a place but you dont have enough money to go there, but you have a book of that place...instead of wasting your money in that out-of-town trip, why dont you just read a book that contains the features of that place?its very affordable and you dont have to pay expensive vehicles to go there.

she could also be warning people who only read literateure for escape. traverse also means to move laterally. if you dont "read into" literature, you get no where. you dont get the message or the meaning. frugal also can mean requiring few resources. if we let our minds wander to other places without getting anything out of it, we are only hurting ourselves. yes books are great, but only if you know how to interpret what you are reading.

so many people dwell on the mental escape books provide and that this poem makes note of. its so much more though. books are emotionally freeing. they're a way of escaping to a better place when the one you're at is inolerable. books let you become someone for as long as you allow it.

Okay, here is a brief analysis I made myself as a student currently studying this poem in class:
Generally, we know that poems have more than one aspect, that is, multidimensional (contrasted to ordinary writing, which is for information only.) This poem, first of all, clearly uses the distinction between denotation (literal meaning) and connotation (expression/overtones.) For example, "frigate" gives a sense of exploration and adventure and "coursers" beauty and spirit. And this poem uses this element to consider the power of book/poetry to carry us away from our surroundings. It is useful to note that "Chariot" is alluding to the myth of Phaeton (from Greek Mythology.) Well, that's pretty much it...
Anyways, can someone, in exchange, post some other information that can help me in my studies?

There is no frigate like a book...
Friegate is compared to a book that can change the personality of a person through reading. You can also explore and travel the world thru it for free while frigate is a transportation used in wars, it will also cost you lots of money. The poem also defines that when you read book, you can imagine the things that are happening in the story, you can also imagine that you are included in the story. Even the poorest person that read book without paying much money. So,for me "reading is a treasurechest full of diamonds".

.: Meaning of Poem :.

There is No Frigate like a Book is comparing a book to a Frigate (ship). It is saying that reading is faster and free, and transports not your body, but your soul.

.: .BOOK. :.

The poet is comparing a book to a frigate but she implies that no earthly frigate an ever be like a book. Yu can travel by a book in a twinkle of an eye to the incredible worlds and lands without paying lots of money and this frigate carries the most prescious traveler: heman's soul
