Where 's the Poet? Analysis

Author: Poetry of John Keats Type: Poetry Views: 459

Where's the Poet? show him! show him,
Muses nine! that I may know him.
'Tis the man who with a man
Is an equal, be he King,
Or poorest of the beggar-clan
Or any other wonderous thing
A man may be 'twixt ape and Plato;
'Tis the man who with a bird,
Wren or Eagle, finds his way to
All its instincts; he hath heard
The Lion's roaring, and can tell
What his horny throat expresseth,
And to him the Tiger's yell
Come articulate and presseth
Or his ear like mother-tongue.

.: Where's the Poet :.

Keats in "Where's the Poet" has fashoined a work to express the varied perspectives a poet must embrace in order that his work has depth and theme. "A man be twixt ape and Plato", explains a range of intelligence and quest to relate that's quite varied. Further, A man who's equal to be king or a part of the beggar clan. Not so much as Keats believed a poet needed to experience poverty or even wealth, but to have touched those ideas enough to relate to humans in universal ways. And poets do follow the vines of themes all humans can relate to, not the accoutrements life may bring us but the core values we all share. nansofast
